After the Inchon Invasion the numbers for the UN were 566 killed and 2,713 wounded. On the other side North Korean forces lost more than 35,000 captured and killed. After securing the beaches at Inchon Harbor the UN continued attacking inland, they advanced towards Seoul, which was taken on September 25, 1950, after ruthless house-to-house fighting. The daring landing at Inchon, helped with 8th Army's breakout from the Pusan Perimeter, throwing the North Korean forces into precipitously retreat. UN troops quickly recovered South Korea and pushed north. This advance continued until late November when Chinese troops poured into North Korea causing UN forces to withdraw south.
After a few more battles the war was over. All in all there was no real winner of the war. The North and South Korea continued to be divided, almost along the 38th parallel, as they were after WWII. The only differences was that the South acquired a little territory above the 38th on the eastern side of the peninsula and North Korea gained a little territory below the 38th on the western side.
